Terms and conditions
The terms that apply when you use this website, buy a digital resource, or work with MD Business Consultancy.
About these terms
These terms apply to MD Business Consultancy Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales (company no. 17347175), with its registered office at 25 North Moor Avenue, Durham, TS29 6AG, operating UK-wide. Using this website means you accept them.
Any consultancy engagement is also covered by a separate written proposal or agreement. Where the two differ, the signed agreement takes precedence.
Using this website
The content on this site is provided for general information. It is not accounting, legal, tax or regulated financial advice, and it should not be relied on as a substitute for advice specific to your circumstances.
All text, branding and downloadable material on this site remains the property of MD Business Consultancy and may not be reproduced or resold without written permission.
Guide prices and quotes
Prices shown on this website, including any figure produced by the guide price calculator, are indicative only. They are intended to give an honest sense of cost, not to form a binding quote.
A firm price is confirmed in writing after a discovery call or Action Plan, once the scope of the work is clear. Nothing is payable until you have accepted that quote.
Consultancy work
- Projects — a 50% deposit secures the work, with the balance payable on completion.
- Retainers — paid monthly in advance by direct debit, on a minimum three-month commitment, and continuing monthly after that until either side gives notice.
- Action Plan — payable in full at booking. Half the fee is credited against a bespoke fixed package taken up afterwards.
Invoices are due within 14 days unless agreed otherwise. Work depends on receiving the information and access agreed at the outset; delays in providing those may affect timescales.
Changes and cancellation
Either of us may end a retainer with 30 days' written notice once the initial three-month term has been served. Fees already paid for the current month are not refundable.
If a project is cancelled after work has started, the deposit covers work completed to that point. Discovery calls and Action Plan sessions can be rescheduled with reasonable notice.
Digital resources
Digital resources are sold and delivered through Payhip, and their checkout terms apply to the transaction.
Because these are downloadable products delivered immediately, the statutory right to cancel does not apply once the download has been accessed. They are licensed for use within your own business and may not be shared, resold or distributed.
Additional Finance Toolkit supplements are available at the stated supplement price once you own the Full Pack.
Responsibility and liability
I will carry out all work with reasonable skill and care. Decisions about your business remain yours, and you are responsible for your own statutory obligations, including filing and compliance deadlines.
I am not an accountant and do not provide regulated accountancy, audit, tax or investment advice. Where something falls outside my scope, I will say so and point you toward the right professional.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud. Otherwise, liability is limited to the fees paid for the work in question.
Confidentiality
Anything you share about your business is treated as confidential and is not disclosed to anyone else without your agreement, except where I am required to by law.
I may refer to work in general terms as a case study or testimonial only with your express permission.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute falls to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Not sure how something applies?
Ask before you commit. I would rather explain a term properly than have anyone agree to something they are unsure about.
