How I got here

Where it started

I left sixth form after a few months. It wasn't for me. First job was on the tills at Go Outdoors, then Ladbrokes at 18, taking bets, serving customers, learning how to talk to people.

Into finance

I self-funded my AAT qualifications while working full time. Not long after, I got my first finance role. From there: grain trading, SaaS, property, early years education.

A forced pause

My health took me out of work for a couple of years. When I came back, I didn't want another job. I wanted to work directly with business owners, on my own terms.

That's MD Business Consultancy.

CAPACITY

I run this business within real limits on my time, and I've built it deliberately around that.

Every client gets my full attention while I'm working with them, because I've made sure I'm never spread across more than I can properly give.

ESSEX SEARCH AND RESCUE

Beyond the day job

For a few years I volunteered with Essex Search and Rescue, training and deploying as part of their K9 air scenting unit. My dog and I trained together, searched together.

It's where I learned to stay calm when things are genuinely chaotic, and to focus on the next right step instead of the size of the problem. That's exactly what I bring into a business that feels like it's spiralling.

WHAT DRIVES ME

Not money. Not status. I'm good at this, and I love doing it. Returning to work, starting a business, wasn't the easy path, and honestly, there was a time I thought my career was over. I'm not the type of person to give up.
